Burger Crane at Pacific Lumber Mill Pond

Burger Crane at Pacific Lumber Mill Pond

Here is an impressive load of Redwoods being delivered to The Pacific lumber Company log pond. From here they will be floated into the log slip and up on its journey to becoming lumber. The Crane was called a Burger Crane and was used to unload Old Growth logs into the pond. Any "Sinkers " ( Logs that would not float such as " Butt" Cuts) would be put off to the side onto what was called the sinker deck where they would be taken to the head rig by a cart or a Front End loader.
