]]>This is the original Silver Mine in Bodie . The Park Service Has Tours Given Daily by Personal Dressed in Period Costumes. The tour was very fasinating and opened up a world that most never knew existed , such as a Quicksilver hauler ; a guy who transported liquid mercury in a wheelbarrow over a half mile down a bumpy road....for some reason they could not figure out why they kept dying off. So there was always an opening for that job.

]]>Here is another well preserved house in Bodie. Notice the Custom Roof and siding on the Right; it consist of old metal tin cans that were cut down to make metal shingles. Most everything that was a liquid came in a 5 gallon tin can, so rather than throw them away they re-cycled them into something usefull.
